A decision for the future
The 3S solar roof replaces conventional roof materials with durable, building-integrated photovoltaic modules. They transform the roof into a beautifully designed source of sustainable energy while protecting the building and its occupants. High quality. Architecturally seamless. Swiss Made.
The 3S solar roof is designed for maximum architectural freedom, seamless integration and easy installation.
Produces sustainable solar energy and replaces conventional roofing materials at the same time.
Integrates seamlessly into the building envelope and creates a homogeneous roof area - customisable in color and shape.
Meets hail resistance class HW5, is tested for increased snow and wind loads and is extremely weather-resistant (40 years)
Reduces energy costs, increases the value of the property and is low-maintenance, durable and powerful.
Can be installed quickly and easily thanks to fewer system components. Modules can be installed and replaced by one person.
Manufactured in Switzerland with carbon-neutral electricity, short transport routes guaranteed.
The 3S solar roof enables full or partial covering from a roof pitch of 3°. It offers optimum weather protection, has been successfully tested for increased wind, snow and ice loads and achieves hail resistance class HW 5 (hailstone Ø 50 mm at 30.8 m/s). The frameless design ensures excellent self-cleaning and the sophisticated system makes installation particularly easy. Developed and manufactured in Switzerland, the 3S solar roof meets the highest standards of quality, design and sustainability - backed by a 40-year weather resistance guarantee.

There are now over 25,000 3S solar installations in operation, reliably supplying sustainable energy.
The installation of a building-integrated solar system on this traditional Engadine house shows that the age of the building is no obstacle to a solar roof. That's a good feeling.
We will be happy to assist you with any challenges in the field of solar solutions.
Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) refers to the integration of solar modules into the building envelope, such as roofs, facades or railings. In contrast to conventional PV systems, BIPV modules replace building materials and perform a dual function: power generation and structural protection. In addition to energy efficiency, BIPV also improves the aesthetics and sustainability of buildings.
The orientation and pitch of BIPV modules have a significant influence on their energy production. Modules that are oriented to the south and have an optimal pitch (around 30-35 degrees in Central Europe) achieve the highest energy yield. Facade modules, on the other hand, usually have a lower pitch, but can also be efficient through vertical integration in buildings with high insolation.
The energy efficiency of BIPV modules depends on various factors, including the type of PV material used (e.g. monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin-film), the orientation and pitch of the modules and the local climatic conditions. Modern BIPV modules offer comparable efficiency values to conventional PV modules. For example, the modules from 3S Swiss Solar Solutions AG offer high efficiency and are designed to meet the specific requirements of BIPV projects.
The maintenance of BIPV modules is relatively low. However, it is important to carry out regular inspections to ensure that the modules are clean and free from damage. Cleaning can usually be done by rain, but in areas with low rainfall or high levels of soiling, manual cleaning may be required. Maintenance contracts with specialized companies can help ensure optimal module performance.
