Low-glare solar modules : Reduced glare effect thanks to satin-finished glass

In most cases, the glare effect from a solar roof is not an issue. Solar glass already has significantly lower reflection than conventional window glass. Depending on the situation (north-facing roof or hillside situation), glare may still occur. That’s why 3S also offers solar modules with satin-finished glass, which allow for a low-glare solar roof.

Due to the manufacturing process used for satin-finished glass, variations in color may occur depending on the viewing angle. This may result in not all solar modules looking exactly the same. These variations are purely cosmetic and do not affect the module’s performance.

For most solar roofs and facades, the glare effect poses no risk to the surrounding area. In certain cases—such as north-facing roofs, hillside situations, steep pitches, or prolonged periods of glare—increased reflection can, however, be problematic. For such situations, 3S also offers the solar module in a low-glare version—an ideal solution for minimizing light reflection in sensitive environments.

The animation shows how low-glare solar modules work.
